Supervised learning
Learning from examples where the correct answer (the “label”) is already known.
In supervised learning, each training example consists of an input and the desired output – for instance a photo and the label “cat”. The model learns to apply this mapping to new data.
Typical tasks are classification (determining a category) and regression (predicting a numerical value). The effort often lies in creating cleanly labelled data.
