Human in the loop

For important or risky steps – such as a payment, customer communication or an HR decision – the AI does not decide alone; a human gives approval.

Human oversight is a central requirement of many regulations, including the EU AI Act for high-risk systems. It only works, however, if the reviewer has enough time, information and authority to say no.
