A specification of what should explicitly not appear in a generated image.
Many image models let you list unwanted properties alongside the actual prompt, such as “blurry, watermark, text, distorted hands”.
Newer models understand natural-language instructions so well that separate negative prompts are needed less often; they remain common with open models.
