Assessing whether an AI deployment pays off – effort and cost compared with the benefit achieved.
Measurable benefits include saved working time, shorter lead times, fewer errors, higher customer satisfaction or additional revenue. A baseline measurement before starting is important.
On the cost side are licences, token costs, integration, maintenance, training and review effort. The time needed to check AI results in particular is often underestimated.
