Deepfakes can swap faces, adapt lip movements to new text or clone voices. They are used for satire and film, but also for fraud, disinformation and reputational damage.

Protection includes scepticism towards unusual requests (such as payment requests via video call), verifying through a second channel, provenance proofs such as content credentials and staff training.
