Principles for developing and using AI that is fair, transparent, safe and human-centred.

Typical principles are fairness, transparency, privacy, safety, robustness, accountability and human control. They appear in guidelines from the OECD, UNESCO, the Council of Europe and many companies.

For principles to take effect, they must be translated into concrete processes: risk assessment before deployment, accountable owners, documentation, training and regular review.
