Machine learning with deep neural networks made up of many stacked layers.

“Deep” refers to the many layers of the network. Each layer processes the output of the previous one, allowing the network to move from simple features (edges, letters) to complex concepts (faces, meanings).

Since the 2010s, deep learning has enabled the major breakthroughs in image and speech recognition and is the basis of today’s language, image and video models.
