Inpainting and outpainting

Inpainting fills or replaces marked image areas; outpainting extends an image beyond its borders.

With inpainting, you mark an area – such as a distracting object – and describe what should appear there instead. The AI inserts the new content to match lighting and perspective.

Outpainting adds missing parts of an image, for example to turn a portrait-format photo into a landscape banner.
