An AI agent that independently writes, changes, tests and fixes program code.

Coding agents work directly in a software project: they read the existing code, make changes across several files, run tests and correct themselves based on the results. The term “vibe coding” describes programming almost entirely through natural-language descriptions.

They speed up development considerably. Code reviews, tests and security checks remain mandatory, though – especially for production systems and customer data.
