For standard tasks such as writing text, taking meeting notes or coding support, mature products exist. In-house solutions are more worthwhile when the process is a competitive advantage, needs special data or integrations, or has particular data protection requirements.

A middle way often makes sense: using existing models via APIs and combining them with your own data, prompts and workflows.
